We are continually investing in equipment for our machine shop. Kevin, who runs our Engineering Department (Wayne has known him for 20 years) has been machining man and boy, and has a vast array of skills and experience. He has previously machined cylinder heads for Lagondas, Hispano Suiza (6 and 12 cylinder) and Amilcar, a crank case for a Type 43 Bugatti, blocks for Amilcar and Alvis Speed 25, and a supercharger for an Amilcar C6. These are just some examples. Together with Paul, our Chief Mechanic, they have machined parts for, and rebuilt, numerous vintage and classic cars from Austin Seven to Vauxhall 30/98. Ably supported by Steve, we have a highly professional and experienced machine shop facility.
So we have CNC milling capability, lathes, surface and cylindrical grinding, 'Serdi' valve machine and so forth at our disposal. We can design and fabricate machined parts from scratch or to your drawings.
Thornley Kelham is itself the machine shop's biggest customer, but we do have capacity to take on outside work. In fact we regularly take in work from other local specialists. So if you are rebuilding an engine or other drive train elements in your own garage or workshop, feel free to call us to discuss your requirements.
