Michael Scott and Steady Barker, (ex- motor racing journalist whom Wayne has known and worked with for over 25 years) have been friends for over 50 years. Michael decided a couple of years ago that he wanted to restore/rebuild the car he had bought off Steady - twice - in time for the car's 80th birthday - and Steady's 94th birthday.
The car came to us because of Wayne's friendship with Steady, and what arrived was, well, not a lot. The really exciting part of the project was that we were to fashion a new body paying homage to a sketch drawn by Steady in 1951. Keep an eye out for the unfolding story of this remarkable restoration in the May issue of Octane.
