WORKSHOP VACANCIES

To meet customer demand, we are expanding our workshop team and are currently looking for highly skilled and experienced craftspeople in the following areas.

We offer a great working environment, good pay and benefits, and wonderful cars to work on. All positions are full-time with flexible hours but we may consider part time. Salary/hourly rate dependent on experience.

FABRICATOR / PANEL BEATER / COACH BUILDER

Key skills required:

  • MIG, TIG and gas welding
  • Fabrication of parts and panels, preferably up to complete body shells
  • Structural fabrication and welding to both separate chassis and monocoque vehicles
  • Experience in both aluminium and steel work to a high standard
  • Drawing up and working from templates/patterns
  • Familiarity with a wheeling machine
  • Fixture jig experience desirable but not essential
  • Experience of English wheel preferred but not essential
  • Problem solving and working to target hours and deadlines
  • Previous experience on classic cars

BODY PREP & PAINT TECHNICIANS

Key skills required:

  • Prepare and paint classic cars to the highest standards, to include:
    • Preparation of bare metal pre primer
    • Application of, and rubbing down of primer
    • Application and rubbing down of stopper
    • Application and polishing of final paint
    • Carrying out masking process
    • Work independently to produce high quality finishes requiring little or no technical directions from managers
    • Calculating the quantities of materials and time required for projects
    • Attend all training programmes as necessary.
    • Have an excellent understanding of COSHH and be aware of changes in legislation.
    • Previous experience on classic cars

ASSEMBLY TECHNICIANS

Key skills required:

  • The ability to strip, rebuild and where necessary, modify, classic cars to the highest level of detail
  • Experience in understanding and following technical drawings and CAD information
  • An organised approach in the initial strip down of vehicles and cataloguing and storage of removed components
  • The ability to analyse and solve problems during reassembly
  • Previous experience on classic cars
  • Knowledge and experience of automotive wiring
  • An interest in the application of modern automotive technology to classic vehicles (“restomodding’)

ENGINEER / ENGINE BUILDER

Key skills required:

  • The ability to strip down engines, carry out full diagnostics and plan necessary repairs and modifications
  • To rebuild engines to the highest standards including detailed measuring and blueprinting
  • Significant experience as a mechanic on classic cars
  • The ability to strip and rebuild mechanical sub assemblies
  • Knowledge of diagnostics
  • Basic turning and milling skills
  • The ability to produce and interpret engineering drawings
  • Enthusiasm for the incorporation of contemporary automotive technology into classic vehicles
