building engines

Our team has extensive experience of re-building a wide range of engines, both pre- and post-war, including WO and Derby Bentleys, Lagonda, Alvis, Amilcar, Hispano Suiza, Lancia, Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Mercedes, BMW and Bugatti.  We have a full range of machining equipment in our engine shop, are able to convert vintage engines to run sweetly on modern fuels, and work closely with a selected casting company in the manufacture of new blocks, heads, manifolds etc.  We work with our customers to understand their engine requirements, and can usually enhance the power output of the original design with careful machining, gas-flowing, piston geometry and materials.  We also offer specific upgrades for the Lancia Aurelia engine series.

Some of the mechanical rebuild projects we've carried out:

  • Amilcar C6 to original specification including building and machining superchargers - the second of two such engines
  • WO Bentley 6.5 litre to original specification
  • WO Bentley 3 Litre for endurance rally use
